Upgrade your plan

Choose a bigger plan in Plan & billing and pay in the checkout. Paused accounts restart at the next sync.

You upgrade from Settings › Plan & billing. You pay in a checkout, and the new plan applies immediately. This page is for moving to a bigger plan. For a smaller one, see Manage or cancel your subscription.

Steps

  1. Open your account menu and tap Settings. Then tap Plan & billing.
  2. Go to Change plan. Every "See plans" and "Upgrade" link in ContactZapp lands here.
  3. Under Billing period, choose Monthly or Yearly.
  4. If you see "Prices in" with another currency beside it, tap it to switch. It only shows when every paid plan is priced in more than one currency.
  5. Compare the plan cards. Each shows its price, how many accounts it syncs and how many contacts it covers, and your own numbers beside them.
  6. On the plan you want, tap Upgrade to and the plan name.
  7. Finish in the checkout. You see the exact price before you pay. Taxes, where they apply, are added at checkout.

What happens next

  • Finish in the checkout window. While it's open, the page says "Nothing changes here until the payment goes through."
  • When the payment goes through, the page says "You're on" and your plan. If accounts or contacts were held back by your old plan, it says which start syncing again on the next run. Tap Sync now to run it straight away. Otherwise, nothing to do.
  • Your receipt is in your email and in the billing portal.
  • Tap Back to plans to return to the plan cards.

A plan below your own has no button. The card tells you how to change it. See Manage or cancel your subscription.

If you already pay for a plan, the upgrade changes that subscription. You don't get a second one.

If something goes wrong

  • "We couldn't start checkout. Try again in a moment." Nothing was charged. Tap the plan again after a moment.
  • The checkout window didn't open. Tap Open checkout in a new tab. A blocked script or your connection can stop the window opening.
  • You closed the checkout. The page says "Checkout closed — nothing was charged and your plan hasn't changed." Tap Try again, or Back to plans.
  • A payment is declined. The checkout tells you why. If you're still stuck, email us with your user ID. You find it under Billing in Plan & billing.
  • Your plan hasn't changed after you paid in a new tab. Keep Plan & billing open. It checks for the purchase for a few minutes and then shows "You're on" your plan.

What happens when I reach my plan's limit or downgrade?

Your plan sets how many accounts you can connect and how many contacts ContactZapp keeps in sync. You can see both numbers, and what you use, in Settings › Plan & billing.

Contact limit. Contacts over the limit are marked Frozen. The first contacts you added keep syncing. Frozen contacts stay as they are in each of your accounts. They are not copied across and nothing is deleted. You can still view, edit and merge them in ContactZapp, but the changes are not sent to your accounts.

Account limit. At the limit, you can't connect another account. If you move to a smaller plan, we pause the accounts that no longer fit, starting with the ones you connected last. A paused account doesn't sync and keeps its contacts. We disconnect it after 30 days, and we email you before that.

When you move to a bigger plan, paused accounts that fit start syncing again and frozen contacts sync from the next run. Nothing is deleted from Google, Microsoft, Apple or your CardDAV server.
