Export selected contacts

You get one vCard file with the contacts you ticked, and nothing else. To export every contact, or to include your merge decisions, see Export your contacts.

Steps

1. Tap Contacts.
2. Tick the box on each contact you want.
3. To tick every contact the list has loaded, use the box at the top of the list. It reads Select every contact in the list, followed by how many are loaded.
4. Tap Export… in the bar that shows how many are selected.

Tap Clear to untick everything.

What is in the file

• One entry per contact, with the details ContactZapp shows for it.
• A contact that was merged is one entry, not one for each account it came from.
• The file is named contact-sync-selection.vcf.
• A photo that only the account it came from can show is left out.

Exporting changes nothing in ContactZapp or in your accounts.

What happens next

Your browser saves the file. Nothing else to do.

If something goes wrong

• The Export… button is greyed out. You ticked more contacts than one export holds. The bar then reads "Export holds up to N contacts. Select fewer to export." Tick fewer and try again.
• The file has fewer contacts than you ticked. A contact that was deleted for good or merged away since you opened the list is skipped. Reload Contacts and select again.
• You only need one contact. Open it and use Export as vCard.
