MCP server

ContactZapp keeps your contacts in sync across Google, Microsoft, Apple and CardDAV, and cleans up duplicates. With this server, an AI assistant can find, read, add and update them. It signs in with your API key.

What you need

An API key and an assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server. The key works on every plan, Free included. Create it in ContactZapp under Settings, then Advanced. Getting started shows how.

Connect

The server speaks Streamable HTTP at https://app.contactz.app/api/v1/mcp. Send your key in the Authorization header, the same way you do for the API. Your assistant’s settings say where to put the address and the header.

Header
Authorization: Bearer cz_live_…

Open that address in a browser and you get an error. That is expected. An assistant sends its requests with POST.

What it can do

  • Check which key you are using and who it acts for.
  • List your contacts, and find one by email.
  • Read one contact.
  • Add a contact, and change one.
  • List your accounts.
  • Start a sync.
  • List your webhooks, and add one.
  • List recent changes: new contacts, edits, merges and accounts that need attention.

It cannot delete a contact.

Limits

Each call counts as one request, and you can make 60 requests a minute, all your keys together. It is the same on every plan. Rate limits says what happens at the limit. A key also keeps the scopes you gave it, so a key that can only read can’t add a contact.
